Custom Engineering Co. is a premier single source supplier specializing in the manufacturing of large-scale metal fabrications. We are currently seeking 1st and 2nd shift  Full-time Machine Operator with experience in the steel industry to join our team at our Erie, PA location. The position offers an hourly rate of up to $24.00 BOE (Which includes our $2.00/Hr shift differential) and the benefits shown below. Requirements:

MACHINE OPERATOR RESPONSIBILITIES: (Included, but not limited to)

  • Set up and remove work pieces from a machine per procedure
  • Proficiently use measuring instruments such as calipers,      micrometers, dial indicators and gauges to ensure conformance of specified      tolerances
  • Ability to perform in-process inspections at a machine and adjust      various offsets to ensure conformance of workpieces as required
  • Position and secure workpieces on machines using measuring      instruments, holding devices, hand tools, and cranes
  • Study blueprints, lay outs, sketches, and work orders to determine      tolerances and work procedures
  • Ability to recognize tooling types -- facemill, drill, taps, etc.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of addition, subtraction, fractions, decimals and      calculate tooling speeds/feeds
  • Prior machining experience
  • Knowledge in general machining practices
