Job Summary:
Cursor is on a mission to automate coding by building the best tool for professional programmers through inventive research, design, and engineering. As an early member of the data science team, you will help define how the company uses data to improve user experience across various interactions.
Responsibilities:
• Design and operationalize metrics that measure the stability of product surfaces and the agent harness
• Build a measurement and rollout framework to prevent, detect, and root cause performance regressions
• Partner with engineers on data tooling that enables self-serve analysis
• Identify performance and reliability experiences that disproportionately cause user frustration
Qualifications:
Required:
• You have 5+ years of experience as a data scientist at a high growth company
• You’ve operationalized a north star performance metric across a pillar
• You have experience building and operationalizing data tooling for non-data users
• You enjoy working directly with engineering on measurement and strategy
• You’re experienced in experimentation and causal inference
• You're happy to work across the stack and help us build the foundations of data at Cursor
