Maintenance & Repairs: Maintain and repair lighting and video equipment inventory and ensure workspaces remain organized and functional.

Collaboration: Work closely with Lead Electricians, Assistant LEs, video teams, stage operations, and other production staff.

Documentation & Communication: Maintain accurate show paperwork and communicate clearly with team members throughout the production process.

Values in Action: Support a safe, inclusive, and collaborative work environment aligned with OSFโ€™s mission and values.

Youโ€™ll Thrive Here If Youโ€ฆ

Have at least 1 year of professional experience in theatrical or live event lighting (or equivalent training).
Can read and interpret light plots and lighting paperwork.
Have experience programming lighting consoles.
Understand conventional and automated lighting systems and safe rigging practices.
Are a strong communicator and collaborative team member.
Enjoy working in a fast-paced, live production environment.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with ETC EOS family consoles.
Familiarity with LED fixtures, automated lighting (Vari-Lite, High End, Clay Paky), and lighting software such as Lightwright.
Experience in a repertory theatre environment.
Knowledge of video integration or show control systems (OSC, MIDI, SMPTE).

Physical & Schedule Requirements

Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work at heights up to 45 feet using ladders and lifts.
Ability to climb, kneel, crouch, and work in physically demanding backstage environments.
Schedule typically Tuesdayโ€“Sunday, including nights, weekends, and overtime during technical rehearsals.
Ability to work variable or split shifts as needed.

Organizational Backgroundย

The Oregon Shakespeare Festival (OSF) was founded in 1935 in Ashland, OR, and has grown from a three-day festival of two plays to a nationally renowned theatre arts organization that presents a rotating repertory season of up to 10 plays and musicals, including illuminating interpretations of Shakespeare, other enduring classics, and new works. OSF productions have been presented on Broadway, internationally, and at regional, community, and high school theatres across the country. OSF received the 1983 Special Tony Award for Outstanding Regional Theatre and is one of the largest nonprofit theatres in the nation with three stages, including an outdoor Allen Elizabethan Theatre.

Statement of Purposeย
