Role Description The Civil Project Manager and Estimator is a full-time position. This role is responsible for managing civil construction projects from initial concept through completion, including planning, scheduling, and coordinating field operations. Day-to-day tasks include preparing detailed estimates and bids, reviewing plans and specifications, developing project budgets, and forecasting labor, materials, and equipment needs. The role oversees subcontractors and internal crews, monitors progress and quality, manages change orders, and ensures compliance with safety standards and regulatory requirements. The Civil Project Manager and Estimator also communicates regularly with clients, engineers, and vendors, provides progress updates, and helps resolve issues in the field to keep projects on track.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated experience in civil construction project management, including planning, scheduling, and coordinating site activities.
  • Strong estimating skills, including quantity takeoffs, cost analysis, and preparation of competitive bids for earthwork, utilities, and sitework.
  • Ability to read and interpret civil drawings, specifications, surveys, and contract documents.
  • Knowledge of construction safety practices, local codes, and regulatory requirements relevant to civil projects.
  • Proficiency with project management and estimating software, as well as standard office tools (e.g., MS Office, spreadsheets).
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills for working with clients, field teams, subcontractors, and suppliers.
  • Strong organizational and time-management abilities, with attention to detail and capacity to manage multiple projects.
  • Experience supervising field personnel and coordinating subcontractors in an on-site environment.
  • Valid driver’s license and willingness to work on-site in varying weather and field conditions.
  • Associate or bachelor’s degree in construction management, civil engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
