Your Impact

At Crisp Cannabis, we are redefining the cannabis retail experience with our commitment to quality, expertise, and innovation.

The Shift Lead plays a key role in overseeing the daily operations of the dispensary during their shift. Reporting directly to the management team, you will perform all the responsibilities of a Budtender while ensuring the team meets operational standards. This includes closing out cash drawers, preparing bank deposits, and supporting the management team by supervising and guiding Budtenders to deliver an outstanding customer experience.

What You'll Do (Personnel Duties, Authority, and Responsibilities)

Other responsibilities and projects may be assigned for the overall benefit of the organization.

Customer Service
  • Perform all duties of a Budtender, including greeting customers, assisting with product selection, and providing education on cannabis products.

  • Ensure a positive, safe, and welcoming experience for all customers.

  • Resolve customer issues effectively and escalate any unresolved matters to the General Manager.

Team Supervision
  • Oversee Budtenders to ensure they are performing their duties effectively throughout the shift.

  • Provide ongoing guidance, coaching, and support to maintain high levels of customer service and operational efficiency.

  • Communicate any team performance issues or concerns directly to the General Manager.

Point of Sale (POS) Operations
  • Oversee the opening and closing of cash registers, including balancing and closing drawers at the end of each shift.

  • Prepare accurate and timely bank deposits.

  • Ensure strict adherence to all cash handling procedures and report any discrepancies immediately to the General Manager.

Inventory Management
  • Assist with daily inventory counts to ensure stock levels remain highly accurate.

  • Replenish products on shelves and display cases as needed.

  • Report any inventory discrepancies or stock issues directly to the Inventory Manager.

Store Maintenance
  • Ensure the storefront is clean, organized, and visually appealing throughout the shift.

  • Oversee the setup of promotional displays and marketing signage.

  • Maintain all safety, sanitation, and health standards.

Operational Support
  • Assist the General Manager with daily operations, including audits, training, and maintaining compliance with company policies and state regulations.

  • Ensure all staff members adhere to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and maintain a consistent level of performance.

What You Bring (Qualifications)
  • Experience: Proven experience as a Budtender or in a similar retail role (cannabis industry preferred). Previous experience in a supervisory, lead, or management role is required.

  • Knowledge: Robust basic knowledge of cannabis products, strains, consumption methods, and industry trends.

  • Leadership: Strong leadership, motivational, and interpersonal skills.

  • Skills: Excellent customer service, clear communication, and strong multitasking abilities in a fast-paced environment.

  • Technical: Experience handling cash and confidently using a retail POS system.

  • Age Requirement: Must be 21 years of age or older.

  • Flexibility: Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

  • Compliance: Must be able to successfully pass a comprehensive background check.

  • Physical Requirements: Regularly required to maintain focus, talk, or listen. Frequently required to stand, walk, sit, carry, push, pull, reach, and use hands/fingers to handle tools or product.

  • Lifting: Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

  • Vision: Close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust focus are required.

  • Environmental Exposure: Regularly exposed to strong cannabis odors and plant material. Frequent handling of cannabis products. Occasional exposure to environmental particles such as pollen and plant pathogens.

  • Noise Level: Environment is usually low to moderate.
