Job description

Summary of Responsibilities: 

Oversee the machines assigned to ensure product is manufactured and packed in the proper configuration, while working within the performance guidelines regarding safety and quality policies and procedures.   

  • Required to work safely and oversee that all employees are protected and working in a safe and productive manner.  
  • Must be able to extract critical information from the work order sheets and print packaging labels.   
  • Must be able to extract critical information from set up sheets to maintain QA standards.
  • Must be able to correctly organize production specific paperwork and work closely with Shift Supervisor, to produce shift-end reports.
  • Ensure all employees are following all company safety rules, dress code and other policies and procedures.
  • Print and verify correctness of all necessary packaging labels.
  • Ensure assigned Inspector Packers know proper label placement and quality requirements.
  • Ensure that parts are meeting quality guidelines provided by Quality Staff.
  • Ensure parts are properly labeled and trimmed.
  • Ensure finished goods cartons are properly labeled and sealed.
  • Assist Inspector Packers with wrapping finished pallets.
  • Audit Floor Persons to ensure the Inspector Packers receive their prescribed break and meals period.
  • Work closely with QA Inspectors and train employees to understand the level of quality needed to meet or exceed our set standards.
  • Responsible to maintain the areas around all machines clean, organized and safe.
  • Other Duties as assigned by the Production Supervisor.

Essential Functions:

  • Must be able to walk for 60% of a shift. 
  • Must be able to occasionally sit and or stand, with or without an additional weight load.  
  • Must be able to lift and /or carry 35 lbs. to shoulder height and pull palletized plastic parts with a manual pneumatic jack, on a regular basis. 
  • Must be able to visually inspect production pieces for quality defects.  
  • Must be able to use a trim knife to trim or remove excess flash and wrap pallets with an18” stretch-wrap roll.      
  • Must be able to wear proper protective equipment. 
  • Must be able to communicate verbally and in writing.   
  • Must be able to maintain a good attendance record. 
  • Must have an intimate knowledge of all duties of the Floor Person’s and Inspector Packer.

It is expected that company policies and procedures will always be followed.  The Production Supervisor, or designee, will be the first point of contact if any questions or issues arise.  

 Required Skills:

  • Previous production coordinator experience preferred.
  • Detail oriented.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Previous stand-up forklift experience preferred.

 Physical Demands:

  •  Must be able to lift 50 lbs., stand, and move about the facility for extended periods of time.

 Competencies:

  • Education: High school Diploma/GED or equivalent experience required.
  • Experience: Leadership experience preferred.
