Founded over 15 years ago, Panakeia, LLC, a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business, provides medical distribution services to the military and Home Health care to Veterans around the country in the areas of home oxygen and ventilator services, home sleep testing and DME equipment. Panakeia is looking to fill a Respiratory Therapist position in our Holbrook, NY office. We are looking for skilled, compassionate, and driven Registered Respiratory Therapists (RRTs) to join our expanding Home Oxygen Equipment and Service team in Holbrook. This role allows therapists to work directly with Veterans in their homes while maintaining a high level of clinical autonomy. This role will report directly to the District Manager in the Tri-State region. The Registered Respiratory Therapist will deliver and set up oxygen concentrators, portable oxygen systems, and ventilator equipment, conduct respiratory assessments and patient education, document respiratory therapy visits and clinical observations, train patients and caregivers on oxygen and respiratory equipment use, coordinate care with VA Medical Center clinical staff, participate in on-call rotation for emergency respiratory service needs and maintain compliance with regulatory and company policies. The ideal candidate will be able to work independently. Compassion for the elderly and a patient-centric nature are a must. All Therapists must be licensed in the state of New York (CRT/RRT credential preferred.). We will help you obtain a license in NJ.  


Qualified candidates will have an associate’s degree or equivalent; or two to four years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.  Home ventilator experience preferred.  Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds on a regular basis and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are a must, along with the ability to understand and articulate services that we offer. Valid Driver’s License and the ability to pass a background check/drug screen are required.  Must demonstrate excellent customer service skills.
