This is a state position with state benefits, offering a competitive salary of $23.81 per hour and a flexible schedule from Monday to Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., with a 60-minute unpaid break.

What You'll Do

Our ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of child development and the ability to create a stimulating and supportive environment for our young learners.


Responsibilities will include:

Establishing and maintaining a safe, healthy, and engaging learning environment by implementing developmentally appropriate curriculum and practices.

Supporting the social and emotional development of our children through positive guidance and relationship-building.

Maintaining open communication with families through regular updates and involvement in their child's learning journey.

Collaborating with colleagues to ensure a well-run and purposeful program that meets the needs of our children and families.

Performing other related duties as needed to support the success of our children and team.


Requirements

Required Education and Training:

Associates or Bachelors in Early Childhood Education, Education or Child Development

Must have experience in a childcare center with ages 6 weeks to 3 years

Incumbents in this class must complete and maintain First Aid certifications and medication training and be responsible for obtaining state licensing required continuing education units.

Will be required to complete and maintain CPR certification.

In compliance with NAEYC guidelines, must be at least eighteen (18) years old.

Special Requirements:


Nice To Haves

We are particularly interested in candidates who have:

A Bachelor's degree in early childhood education, child development, or a related field.

Experience working in a NAEYC-accredited child care program, particularly with children aged 6 weeks to 5 years.

Knowledge of and experience with CT ELDS, DOTS, and NAEYC standards and criteria.

Ability to create and maintain a NAEYC classroom portfolio.

Experience independently implementing curriculum and promoting a child-centered approach.
