Job description

Are you dependable, detail-oriented, and ready to be an essential part of our kitchen team? Neighborly is looking for a Dishwasher to keep our kitchen clean, organized, and ready for action. The Dishwasher is responsible for ensuring all dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment are clean and sanitized, supporting a clean and organized kitchen environment that meets Neighborly’s hygiene and safety standards. The Dishwasher also assists with basic kitchen cleaning tasks and ensures that dish stations are stocked and properly maintained.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Washes and sanitizes dishes, glassware, flatware, pots, and pans using dish machines and hand-washing methods, ensuring all items are clean and free of debris.

  • Organizes and stores clean dishes, utensils, and cooking equipment in designated locations, ready for immediate use.

  • Maintains cleanliness and sanitation of dishwashing areas, sinks, and kitchen equipment following Neighborly’s standards.

  • Empties and cleans trash receptacles and removes waste to the appropriate containers; assists in managing recycling efforts.

  • Assists with deep cleaning tasks, including but not limited to, sweeping, mopping, scrubbing walls, and cleaning floor mats to uphold a safe and clean environment.

  • Performs periodic checks on the dish machine to ensure it is functioning properly; reports any maintenance or mechanical issues to the kitchen supervisor.

  • Supports kitchen team with basic food prep and other duties as assigned during slower periods or when additional help is needed.

  • Participates in opening and closing procedures, ensuring the dish area is set up for the following shift.

  • Upholds all company safety and sanitation policies to ensure a safe working environment.

QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS:

  • Strong work ethic with attention to detail.

  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

  • Reliable, punctual, and willing to take on additional tasks as needed.

  • Basic understanding of sanitation standards preferred.

  • Ability to handle tasks with a sense of urgency.

  • Both Part-Time and Full-Time positions available

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

  • Previous dishwashing or kitchen experience in a high-volume environment is a plus.

ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL FUNCTIONS

  • Must have the stamina to work a minimum of 25 hours a week.

  • Ability to stand/walk for up to 8 hours per day.

  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.

  • Will frequently reach, bend, stoop, and perform repetitive tasks.

  • Must be able to work in hot, humid, or wet conditions typical of a busy kitchen environment.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

  • $16.25-$17.25/hour dependent on experience
