Job description

Job Summary: Constructors Inc is looking to employ an experienced concrete foreman to supervise our concrete crew and oversee all activities relating to concrete structures. The responsibilities of the concrete foreman include evaluating the performance of the concrete finishers and laborers, ensuring that project is per plan. You should also be able to manage project materials and resources as well as oversee the use of equipment and tools. To be successful as a concrete foreman, you should be able to correctly interpret blueprints, plans, and drawings. Ultimately, an exceptional concrete foreman should demonstrate excellent management and problem-solving skills as well as enforce compliance with safety regulations.

Concrete Foreman Responsibilities:

  • To work with Superintendent or Project Manager.
  • To work with project owners, subcontractors, and other trades to successfully complete the job.
  • To make NM 1-Call and maintain updates.
  • To use PO system.
  • To communicate personnel issues with HR or Personnel Manager.
  • To always follow safety guidelines.
  • To hold weekly tailgate meetings.
  • To perform preliminary accident investigation and report to the safety department.
  • To complete timesheets and send to payroll daily.
  • Overseeing all activities pertaining to concrete preparation, placement, installation, finishing, and curing.
  • Dividing concrete construction projects into different stages and evaluating how much labor and materials are required for each stage.
  • Resolving all problems that may affect project quality and completion.
  • Consulting blueprints, drawings, and plans to ensure that concrete structures are accurately placed and installed.
  • Delegating tasks to concrete laborers and providing overall guidance.
  • Maintaining accurate records of the number of hours worked and the number of materials used for each project.
  • Ensuring that formwork and shoring are erected, supported, and dismantled based on engineering designs and drawings.
  • Inspecting concrete after the formwork and shoring has been removed and instructing concrete laborers on how to correct defects and concrete roughness. 

Concrete Foreman Requirements:

  • Valid drivers license able to meet companies' requirements.
  • Bilingual is a plus.
  • High school diploma or GED is preferred.
  • Proven experience working as a Concrete Foreman with a minimum of (5) years' experience.
  • Working knowledge of estimation calculation of materials and equipment needed.
  • The ability to interpret blueprints, drawings, and plans.
  • Outstanding organizational and time management skills.
  • Excellent leadership skills.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.

Critical Demands of the Job:

  1. Standing: Frequent. Requires the ability to stand on various types of surfaces and terrain, including construction sites and uneven ground.
  2. Walking: Frequent. Requires the ability to walk on various types of surfaces and terrain, including construction sites and uneven ground.
  3. Lifting/Carrying: Frequent. This position is classified a "Medium Work". This requires the ability to "exert up to 75 pounds of force occasionally, and or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and / or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects".
  4. Climbing: Frequently. Requires the ability to climb in and out of heavy trucks up to 5 steps, 4" width, 16" apart. Ability to climb in and out of equipment.
  5. Spinal Rotation: Continuous. Requires full spinal rotation with the ability to sustain position for up to 10 seconds.
