About The Role
The Director of Construction Management will develop a high-performing Construction Management team within the Power Delivery sector. This role is responsible for supporting and leading Business Development efforts across multiple regions and ensuring successful construction management of EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) projects including execution of traditional/standalone construction management services for major investor-owned utilities, municipalities, co-operatives, and developers (including data centers). The ideal candidate will bring extensive industry contacts, operations experience, strategic leadership skills, and a proven ability to manage complex construction projects in a dynamic, national environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Team Leadership & Development:
  • Build, mentor, and expand the Construction Management team to meet current and future business needs.
  • Foster a culture of safety, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

Business Development:
  • Lead business development to identify and develop new opportunities and customers (National growth) while providing construction expertise during proposal development and client presentations.
  • Contribute to strategic growth initiatives in the Northeast, Southeast, West, and other national markets.
  • Responsible for full P&L ownership including year-over-year growth.

Project Execution & Oversight:
  • Direct and manage the Construction Management team responsible for executing traditional/standalone construction management and EPC projects.
  • Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and in compliance with quality and safety standards.

Operational Excellence:
  • Develop and implement best practices for construction management processes, tools, and reporting.
  • Drive efficiency and cost-effectiveness across all phases of project delivery.

Stakeholder Engagement:
  • Collaborate with external and internal engineering, procurement, and project management teams.
  • Maintain strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, and vendors.

Key Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field (Master's degree preferred).
  • 10+ years of experience in construction management within the Power Delivery industry, including EPC project execution.
  • Proven history of leading teams and managing large-scale projects across multiple disciplines and regions.
  • Strong understanding of transmission, distribution, substation, underground and renewable construction practices required.
  • Experience managing a P&L with deep industry connections to support year-over-year growth.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and leadership skills.
  • Ability to travel nationally as required.

Key Nice-to-Haves:
  • Experience with regulatory compliance and permitting in multiple jurisdictions.
  • Familiarity with emerging technologies and trends in power delivery construction.
  • PMP or equivalent certification is a plus.
