Principal Function: The Conner Prairie Store Associate is responsible for selling amenities and products to Conner Prairie guests. These products serve to continue the museum experience or a memory of their experience, while generating and serving as an income stream for the Museum operations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Duties include, but are not limited to:

1. Provides immediate guest greeting to all visitors of the stores
2. Helps guests find merchandise to extend their park visit by showing and suggesting.
3. Participates in an annual physical inventory
4. Receives and tickets merchandise stocking as needed
5. Reconciles daily sales with registers
6. Operates cash register and serve guests
7. Handles customer special orders
8. Proficient in POS operations staying current with changes
9. Keeps work station and sales floor tidy and clean
10. Answers guests Conner Prairie questions
11. Helps store volunteers with store related questions

Supervisory Responsibilities: This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

Education and/or Experience: High School diploma or G.E.D. desired.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly is exposed to working in wet or humid conditions (non-weather), and outdoor weather conditions. The employee will occasionally work near moving mechanical parts, in high, precarious places, near fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, extreme cold (non-weather), extreme heat (non-weather), risk of electrical shock, and work with explosives. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet to moderate.

Conner Prairie is generally open from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Tuesday through Sunday, this position will be required to work beyond these hours and when open for special events.
