We have a 2-year, 100% onsite, Multimedia Designer contract, in Jackson, MS. The anticipated start date is immediate.

Our client is seeking a creative and detail-oriented Multimedia Designer to support a dynamic External Communications team. This role is ideal for someone who thrives at the intersection of design, digital media, and storytelling, and is passionate about producing engaging, brand-consistent content across multiple platforms.

Key Responsibilities

Design & Branding

Develop visually compelling, brand-aligned graphics and digital assets for social media and web platforms

Utilize Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) to produce high-quality design work
 

Content Coordination

Plan, create, and maintain a proactive social media content calendar

Assist in the distribution and scheduling of external digital communications

Web Maintenance

Perform routine website updates and content entry through a Content Management System (CMS)

Ensure all web content meets accessibility standards and maintains accuracy
 

Multimedia Production

Capture on-site photography and videography for events and initiatives

Perform basic editing and optimization for web and social media use

Quality Control

Apply core design principles (typography, layout, color theory) to ensure a cohesive and professional visual identity across all platforms

Minimum Qualifications

• 1–3 years of professional experience in graphic design, digital media, or a related field
• Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign)
• Experience with digital photography and videography, including shooting and basic editing
• Familiarity with website content updates using a CMS
• Experience developing or managing social media content calendars
• Strong understanding of design fundamentals, demonstrated through a professional portfolio or resume

Desirable Qualifications

• Experience with digital accessibility standards, including WCAG 2.1 Level AA
• Familiarity with Drupal or similar CMS platforms
• Experience with motion graphics tools such as After Effects or Premiere Pro
• Background in public sector, nonprofit, or government communications
• Experience using social media scheduling and analytics tools (e.g., Sprout Social, Hootsuite, Airtable)
• Ability to translate complex information into clear, engaging, and accessible public-facing content
