Salary: $40,000-$45,000

Accounting Specialist II - Comprehensive Youth Services, Inc.


Comprehensive Youth Services, Inc. is a non-profit organization which oversees 4+ Programs. If you have a passion for non-profits this is the job for you!


Position Description: The Accounting specialist works closely with others in the finance department which oversees daily, monthly and yearly financial operations. Tasks are as follows but not limited to:

  • Prepare accurate financial statements
  • Reconcile accounts and credit card accounts
  • Generate reports
  • Manage accounts payable, pay and file invoices, and track the status of accounts
  • Manage account receivables
  • Prepare month-end reports and all necessary reporting
  • Input ledger entries, process financial transactions
  • Accounts payable, draft and send invoices, print checks and ACH payments in a timely manner
  • Data Management
  • Assist with administrative tasks including answering phones, organizing mail, or ordering office supplies, etc.
  • Collaborate with Program Directors to prepare budgets for grants
  • Prepare and complete daily bank deposits
  • Prepare for financial audits
  • Prepare financial reports for the Board of Directors meetings and attend meetings


Hours:Full Time 8-4 Monday thru Friday


Compensation:TBD with experience taken into consideration


Benefits:403b Retirement Plan with 10% matching, medical /dental/vision fully paid by employer after 90 days, PTO and vacation days


Qualifications:

  • Bachelors preferred
  • 2-4 years experience in an accounting role
  • Non-profit experience a plus
  • MIP classic or MIP Cloud knowledge preferred
  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills
  • Computer proficiency
  • Flexibility and the capacity to prioritize tasks in a rapidly changing environment
  • Ability to work evenings and/or weekends when needed
  • Federal and State grant knowledge
