Job Title: Component Cleaning and Refurbishment TechnicianLocation: Kennedy Space CenterSUMMARY: Noetic Strategies is seeking an accomplished Cleaning and Refurbishment Technician to join the team. The ideal candidate is an experienced, self-sufficient hands-on engineer with a background in precision cleaning of flight and ground support equipment. Knowledge and skills in precision cleaning of fluid systems or components and demonstrated strength in leadership and management of test tasks and test teams is required.MINIMUM SKILLS REQUIRED:Two or more years of experience in the cleaning and testing of fluid components and systems utilized in the preparation and launching of missile and space vehicles preferred.Knowledge of cleaning, disassembly/reassembly, pneumatic, hydraulic, cryogenic, hydrostatic, electrical testing of mechanical and electro-mechanical components and systems, materials compatibility, handling of high-pressure gases/solvents/chemicals/corrosive fluids, packaging, safety procedures, measurement instruments, common and special work tools and scheduling of workflow and manpower preferred.One or more years of experience in precision cleaning of fluid systems or components or related experience.Four year technical college degree preferred or two or more years of college level scientific study or five years of directly related work experiencePRIMARY DUTIES, RESPONSIBILITIES & ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:¨ Assist the CR Lead Supervisor to manage and direct the operations of the Component Refurbishment department mechanics and quality technicians.¨ Direct, schedule and set priorities for work assignments for component refurbishment mechanics and quality assurance technicians performing chemical cleaning, refurbishment and testing functions per the direction of the CR Lead Supervisor.¨ Assist with the compliance of all safety standards, codes and regulations, including handling of hazardous materials/wastes.¨ Assist with ensuring all CR Department areas, including clean rooms, pre-clean area and field clean areas are operational and able to support production operations.¨ Oversee / direct special projects / studies in support of CR/CA operations per the direction of the CR Lead Supervisor.¨ Assist as a technical contact for customer questions / problems for component cleaning, refurbishment, decontamination and testing support.¨ Provide input on capital equipment requirements and new technology for component cleaning, refurbishment and testing operations.¨ Performs normal assistant supervisor functions: assist with assigning work to CR Department personnel, scheduling CR Department overtime and evaluate performance.¨ Support proper control, distribution, coordination, tracking and statusing of component refurbishment workload necessary to meet requestor and KSC schedules.¨ Assist with the operation of a stockroom and troubleshoot part/materials acquisition issues for CR/CA projects.¨ Assist with the performance of annual property audit.¨ Communicate with Logistics Support personnel regarding Logistics and Component Refurbishment status/issues.¨ Assist in procurement of parts required for refurbishment of components and facility equipment.¨ Review and update work documents per direction of CR Lead Supervisor.¨ Interface with requesters of cleaning/refurbishment services to define requirements and objectives and applicable standards and acceptance criteria.
