Job description

Location: Western Washington
Employment Type: Part-Time / On-Call
Pay: $58.00–$72.00 per hour, depending on experience
Reports To: Co-Owner / 01 Master Electrician

We are a woman-owned, family-operated small business providing electrical expertise and services in construction, tenant improvements, and EV infrastructure for public and private-sector clients throughout Western Washington.

People over profits has been a cornerstone of our organization from the beginning. We believe the people who contribute to the company's success should have the opportunity to share in it. We've built our workplace around trust, flexibility, accountability, and giving good people room to grow.

That has allowed members of our team to broaden their experience beyond field installation and develop strengths in estimating, material takeoffs, project coordination, and other areas of the business. We want our employees to continue learning and developing while still having the flexibility to live their lives outside of work.

We are entering a period of significant growth, with a strong project pipeline and increasing demand across our lines of business. The people we add to our team now will play an important role in how we manage that growth and where the company goes next.

The Position

We're looking for an experienced 01 Electrical Foreman who is open to part-time, on-call work. Assignments will vary in length and may range from a few days to several weeks at a time.

This is a working foreman position. You'll be expected to lead the crew and perform electrical work alongside them. You should be comfortable reviewing the scope and construction documents, determining how to approach the work, assigning people to productive tasks, and keeping the project moving.

We're looking for someone who knows how to manage a crew, not simply work alongside one. That includes recognizing when productivity is slipping, identifying work that isn't being installed correctly, giving clear direction, and following through to make sure corrections are made.

You'll also be expected to keep leadership informed. Problems happen in construction. What matters is identifying potential schedule impacts, material needs, field conflicts, scope issues, or other concerns early enough that we have an opportunity to address them.

Responsibilities

  • Lead electricians and apprentices while remaining actively involved in field installation.
  • Assign manpower based on project priorities, productivity, and the work scheduled for the day.
  • Review construction plans, electrical drawings, specifications, details, and project scope.
  • Plan upcoming work, including manpower, materials, sequencing, and coordination needs.
  • Perform and oversee electrical installations in accordance with the project scope and construction documents.
  • Monitor workmanship and productivity and provide direction or correction when needed.
  • Communicate field conflicts, material needs, schedule concerns, scope questions, and other potential project impacts to leadership.
  • Coordinate professionally with general contractors, other trades, inspectors, and project stakeholders.
  • Complete and submit accurate daily reports, including manpower, work completed, progress, and relevant jobsite conditions.
  • Maintain a safe, organized, and productive jobsite.
  • Support inspections, testing, commissioning, punch list work, and closeout as required.

Qualifications

  • Current Washington State EL01 Journey Level Electrician Certificate.
  • At least 3 years of experience working as an electrical foreman with responsibility for leading field crews.
  • 4–7+ years of experience performing comparable electrical work.
  • Experience working for an established electrical contractor on larger, multi-trade construction projects.
  • Experience directing journeymen and apprentices and holding crews accountable for productivity and workmanship.
  • Strong working knowledge of construction plans, electrical drawings, specifications, details, and schedules.
  • Experience preparing and submitting daily reports and other field documentation.
  • Ability to plan ahead, prioritize work, and adjust to changing field conditions.
  • Strong communication and coordination skills.
  • Comfortable making field decisions within the assigned scope and knowing when an issue needs to be elevated.
  • Valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
  • Ability to pass required pre-employment background and drug screening.

Experience with public works, tenant improvements, EV charging infrastructure, electrical distribution, switchgear, service equipment, and larger commercial construction projects is a plus.

Leadership

This position reports directly to the Co-Owner and 01 Master Electrician.

Our approach isn't to micromanage experienced people. You'll be given the room to lead your crew and manage the work, with the expectation that you communicate and take ownership of your responsibilities.

At the same time, leadership stays involved and accessible. Our Co-Owner works in the field and will step in when another set of hands, troubleshooting, or support is needed. We're looking for someone who is comfortable operating independently but also knows when to pick up the phone.

Pay

The base rate for this position is $58.00–$72.00 per hour, depending on experience.

This advertised range is for non-prevailing wage work. When assigned to a project subject to prevailing wage requirements, employees will receive the applicable prevailing wage for their classification and the project.

Project-based profit sharing is also available on qualifying assignments.

Company Vehicle & Tools

A company work van and the tools and equipment needed for assigned work will be provided.

The Foreman is responsible for keeping the vehicle and company-provided tools organized, properly maintained, secure, and ready for work.

Because you'll be operating a company vehicle and entrusted with company equipment, this position requires a clean driving record and successful completion of required pre-employment screening.

Schedule

This is a part-time, on-call position. Hours are not guaranteed, and assignments will depend on our project and manpower needs.

Assignments may be as short as a few days or extend for several weeks. We'll communicate anticipated schedules and assignment duration in advance whenever possible and work with individual availability.

We're interested in more than filling short-term manpower needs. We want to build relationships with people we can trust and continue working with as the company grows. For the right person, that can mean recurring assignments, more responsibility, opportunities to develop other strengths within the business, and the potential to move into a full-time position.

Full-time employees are eligible for additional benefits while continuing to participate in the flexibility, professional development, and shared-success approach we've built the company around.
