This position is primarily remote, allowing counselors to maintain a healthy work-life balance while effectively serving clients from the comfort of their home. Our virtual environment is equipped with modern technology and tools to facilitate telehealth counseling, ensuring counselors have everything they need to support their clients just as effectively as in a traditional setting.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough assessments of clients' mental health needs to create comprehensive treatment plans tailored to individual circumstances.
  • Provide individual counseling sessions at least twice weekly for clients, focusing on therapeutic techniques that promote emotional healing and personal development.
  • Lead group therapy sessions to foster community among clients while educating them and their families about mental health issues.
  • Respond promptly and efficiently to emergencies, demonstrating crisis management skills that could positively affect client outcomes.
  • Ensure meticulous documentation by reviewing client charts for completeness and accuracy, conducting weekly audits to maintain compliance and transparency.
  • Facilitate discharge planning and coordinate outreach efforts to connect clients with necessary community resources post-treatment.
  • Maintain clear communication with clients and their families, including establishing schedules for ongoing contact as desired by the client.
  • Engage actively in staff meetings and professional development trainings to stay updated on best practices in the field.
Patient Population / Client Focus

As a counselor at Comfort Console Psychotherapy, you will work with a diverse array of clients, including individuals coping with anxiety, depression, trauma, and other mental health challenges. Our clinic is particularly focused on serving underrepresented populations who may have faced barriers in accessing mental health services. Your role will be crucial in helping these clients develop coping strategies and achieve their mental health goals.

Qualifications
  • A valid California state licensure as a Professional Counselor (LPCC) is required.
  • A minimum of two years of clinical counseling experience is essential to ensure a strong foundation in counseling practices.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in both individual and group counseling techniques is necessary for effective client support.
  • A strong understanding of behavior management principles and therapeutic methodologies tailored to diverse client needs.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team, while also showing self-direction in managing your workload.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written, for engaging effectively with clients, families, and colleagues.
  • A commitment to ongoing professional development and adherence to ethical standards in counseling practices.
Preferred Experience
  • Experience working in a community health setting is preferred, particularly with marginalized populations.
  • Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems is advantageous for documentation and client management.
Compensation and Benefits

We offer a competitive annual salary ranging from $90,000 to $100,000, commensurate with experience. Full-time employees will also receive a comprehensive benefits package, including:

  • 10 days of paid vacation annually.
  • 10 holidays and 5 sick days per year.
  • Medical, dental, and vision insurance coverage.
  • A 401(k) plan with company matching.
  • Employer-paid life insurance.
  • Paid malpractice insurance coverage.
  • A supportive and collaborative team environment that values your contributions.
