Why This Role Is Different
This role spans the full perioperative experience, supporting patients from preoperative preparation through recovery in PACU. You are not assigned to a single phase of care-you are actively involved in the entire surgical journey.
You'll work in a highly collaborative environment with surgeons, anesthesia providers, and clinical staff where clinical judgment, flexibility, and communication are essential every day.
About the Role
The Preop/PACU RN provides comprehensive nursing care in an ambulatory surgical center, including preoperative assessment, intra- and post-procedure monitoring, and recovery support.
This role applies the nursing process to ensure safe, high-quality patient outcomes while supporting physicians and maintaining clinical and regulatory standards.
What You Will Do
  • Assess, monitor, and care for patients throughout preoperative and PACU phases
  • Prepare patients for surgery and ensure safe transition into and out of the operating room
  • Administer medications, treatments, and interventions per physician orders and clinical protocols
  • Support physicians with perioperative procedures and patient care activities as needed
  • Document all care accurately and in a timely manner in accordance with policy and regulatory standards
  • Maintain patient safety, infection control compliance, and effective communication across the care team

Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing required
  • Current state RN license required
  • CPR and ACLS certification required
  • Minimum 1 year of preoperative, intraoperative, and/or postoperative surgical experience required
  • Orthopedic experience preferred
