Columbia County Public Health is seeking an experienced RN to assist with
community immunization clinics and outreach events throughout the county.
This rewarding, as-needed position is ideal for a nurse who enjoys working independently, engaging with the public, and making a meaningful impact by helping protect community members from vaccine-preventable diseases.
Qualifications- Current Oregon Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing
- Experience administering immunizations to pediatric and/or adult populations strongly preferred
- Knowledge of vaccine administration guidelines and documentation requirements
- Strong communication, organizational, and customer service skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Must possess a valid driver's license and maintain an insurable driving record
- Must be able to successfully pass a criminal history background check
Essential Duties- Administer immunizations in accordance with clinical guidelines and agency protocols
- Assess clients for vaccine eligibility, contraindications, and precautions
- Provide vaccine education and post-vaccination care instructions
- Accurately document immunizations using provided systems and forms
- Monitor clients for adverse reactions and respond appropriately
- Follow vaccine storage, handling, and infection prevention requirements
- Maintain professionalism while providing high-quality, client-centered care
- Work collaboratively with Columbia County Public Health staff
Schedule- As-needed/Contract
- Clinic events generally run 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Nurses may work only event hours or participate in travel, setup, and teardown activities, which may extend the workday from approximately 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Additional immunization - clinics are anticipated later this fall and winter.
- Clinic Dates Currently Scheduled: August 18, 19, 20, and 25
- Paid Orientation/Training: Approximately 2 hours prior to the first clinic date
- Work Location: Various locations throughout Columbia County
Pay Rate:$35.00 per hour
