About the Role:

The Behavior Technician plays a critical role in supporting individuals with behavioral challenges by implementing individualized treatment plans under the supervision of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA). This position focuses on delivering Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) therapy to help clients develop essential life skills, improve communication, and reduce maladaptive behaviors. The technician works closely with clients, families, and interdisciplinary teams to ensure consistent and effective intervention strategies. Success in this role directly contributes to the client's progress and overall quality of life. The Behavior Technician must demonstrate compassion, patience, and professionalism while maintaining accurate documentation and adhering to ethical standards.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Completion of Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) certification or willingness to obtain within a specified timeframe.
  • Ability to pass background checks and any required health screenings.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to follow detailed instructions.
  • Demonstrated patience, empathy, and commitment to working with individuals with developmental disabilities.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working with children or adults with autism spectrum disorder or other developmental disabilities.
  • Previous experience in a clinical or educational setting implementing behavioral interventions.
  • Additional certifications related to behavior analysis or special education.
  • Post-secondary education in psychology, education, or related fields.
  • Familiarity with data collection software and electronic health records.

Responsibilities:

  • Implement individualized ABA therapy programs as designed by the supervising BCBA.
  • Collect and record data on client behaviors and progress during therapy sessions.
  • Assist clients in developing communication, social, and daily living skills.
  • Maintain a safe and supportive environment for clients during sessions.
  • Collaborate with families and other professionals to ensure consistency in treatment approaches.
  • Attend training sessions and team meetings to stay informed about best practices and client needs.
  • Follow all ethical guidelines and confidentiality policies related to client care.
