ABOUT THIS POSITION
Summary:
CMU Tech's Allied Health Program is seeking 2 enthusiastic Adjunct Instructors to teach in our Medical Assistant program, one in Montrose and one in Grand Junction.This flexible position is ideal for experienced healthcare professionals-including Medical Assistants, Pharmacy Technicians, Medical Coders/Billers, Medical Administrative Professionals, Nurses, EMTs/Paramedics-who are passionate about preparing students for rewarding careers in healthcare.
Courses may be delivered in a hybrid format, combining online instruction with occasional hands-on skills labs that may be supported by CMU Tech's high-tech Mobile Learning Lab.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESinclude the following. Other related duties may be assigned.
Include but are not limited to:
Instructional Responsibilities:
Teach one or more Medical Assistant courses (e.g., administrative procedures, clinical skills, coding/billing, EHR, pharmacology, patient care).
Deliver instruction aligned with approved syllabi, accreditation guidelines, and program standards.
Incorporate real-world examples and skillsets that reflect current industry practices.
Professional Development:
Maintain relevant certifications and licensure.
Integrate current industry standards and technologies into teaching practices.
Use online learning platforms and tools to support student success.
Student Support:
Be available to students outside of class for questions and mentoring.
Engage with students using a variety of tools (Zoom, email, phone, synchronous chats).
Foster an inclusive and supportive learning environment.
Commitment to Student Success:
Emphasize hands-on, real-world skill development.
Tailorinstructionto meet diverse student learning needs.
Encourage confidence, competence, and professionalisminall students.
Support career readiness andcredentialingpreparation.
Salary:
$600.00 - $850.00 per credit hour.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
Minimum of3 yearsof experience in a healthcare role such asMedical Assisting, Nursing, Pharmacy Technician, Coding & Billing, Medical Office Management, or EMT/Paramedic.
Strong understanding of patient care, clinical workflows, or administrative healthcare systems.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Previousteaching or training experience (formal or informal).
National certification (e.g., RMA, CMA,CPhT, CPC, NCCT, etc.).
Career and Technical Education (CTE) credential or willingness to obtain upon hire.
