The Sr. Program Manager will oversee the Safe Passage, Safe Blocks Program and report to the Community Service Director. Safe Passage workers are posted on Safe Passage routes to support children traveling to and from school during arrival and dismissal bell times. You can identify them by their neon-colored Safe Passage vests. Safe Passage workers are employed by community-based organizations that are situated in the school communities that they serve.

ESSENTIAL POSITION DUTIES

Candidate shall possess the following skill sets and fulfill the responsibilities listed, but not limited to those below:

  • Leadership: oversee the coordination and administration of all aspects of the program including planning, organizing, leading, and controlling program activities.
  • Management : Manage supervisors and coordinators to ensure the outcomes of the program objectives by overseeing the program and reporting monthly outcomes to Senior Management.
  • Community relation management - knowledge of a local community's needs and the ability to interview others to get needed information are essential qualities.
  • Conflict resolution - responsible for identifying the root cause of disputes and using negation tactics to encourage resolution.
  • Public speaking - strong public speaking skills to present at public and private meetings.
  • Marketing - promotional skills are essential for community liaisons to effectively share their organization's message with a local community.
  • Interpersonal skills - a critical duty of community liaisons is building trusting and effective partnerships to facilitate engagement and outreach. To do this, they must be able to quickly relate with many different types of people.
  • Administrative skills - it is common for community liaisons to perform general administrative duties as assigned.
  • Writing skills - creating documentation and written reports is common for community liaison
Education/Experience:

Must possess bachelor's degree in criminal justice or five years of experience working with high risk youth and young adults.
