Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Operating Room position requiring a TX or compact RN license and 2+ years of OR experience

Details
  • Work in the Operating Room within a Surgery unit setting
  • 10-bed unit staffed with a CNC, 7 RNs, 10 CSTs, 3-4 first assists, 4 PCTs, 2 anesthesia techs, a supervisor, and a director on day shift
  • Night shift is on-call only
  • Patient ratio of 1:1
  • Multi-specialty equipment used
  • EMR is Meditech, currently converting to Expanse
  • Day shift scheduled 6:30 AM to 7:00 PM
  • 13-week assignment
  • No floating required
  • On-call required, including weekly on-call and one weekend per month
Requirements
  • Active TX or compact RN license required
  • Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
  • Experience in orthopedics, general surgery, urology, and gynecology required
  • ENT and vascular (non-cardiac) experience preferred
  • Pediatric experience preferred
  • BSN preferred
  • Experience with open, laparoscopic, and robotic general surgery cases (appendectomy, cholecystectomy, some bariatrics)
  • Experience with robotic orthopedic procedures, total knee/hip replacements, and trauma orthopedics
  • Experience with laparoscopic/robotic hysterectomies, tubal ligations, and emergent interventions
  • US Social Security Number and date of birth required for consideration
  • No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months
Additional Information
  • Team player with initiative and drive needed to keep the day moving in a fast-paced OR environment
  • Cobalt blue scrub attire required
  • Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to be eligible for this position
  • First-time travelers may be considered
