Role Description The Composites Technician role is a full-time remote position focused on wind turbine blade inspection, repair, and maintenance. Day-to-day responsibilities include preparing work areas, mixing and applying composite materials, performing structural repairs, sanding, laminating, and finishing to meet technical specifications and quality standards. The role involves reading and interpreting work instructions and technical drawings, documenting work performed, and following strict safety protocols in varying environmental conditions. Technicians collaborate with other team members and supervisors to plan work, report issues, and ensure projects are completed on time and in compliance with industry and company requirements.
Qualifications

  • Hands-on experience with composite materials, including laminating, sanding, bonding, and structural repair of fiberglass and other composites.
  • Ability to read and understand technical drawings, repair procedures, and work instructions, with strong attention to detail and quality control.
  • Knowledge of safety practices related to working at heights, use of power tools, handling resins and chemicals, and adherence to PPE and safety protocols.
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills to identify damage, determine repair methods, and adapt to changing field conditions.
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills, including clear reporting, documentation of work, and collaboration with remote supervisors and colleagues.
  • Physical ability to perform manual labor in outdoor environments, including lifting, climbing, and working in confined or elevated spaces.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training or prior experience in composites, wind energy, aerospace, marine, or related fields is preferred.
  • Willingness to travel to various wind farm sites as needed and work flexible hours based on project schedules.
