Job description

About CoVar

CoVar is an AI/ML R&D software company with offices in Durham, NC and McLean, VA, that uses artificial intelligence to solve problems that matter. Our teams build AI/ML solutions that help the DoD detect enemies and threats, help biomedical researchers find new cures, and help monitor machinery to prevent injuries and environmental catastrophes. We are passionate engineers dedicated to pushing the bounds of what AI/ML can do in the real world.

About this position

CoVar is seeking a highly experienced combat arms professional to help productize and integrate its state-of-the-art Aided Target Recognition (AiTR) technology into US Army combat arms units. You'll draw on your operational credibility and military experience to build relationships with Army leadership, demonstrate CoVar's technology on unit equipment, and serve as the critical link between units using our AiTR and CoVar's engineering team.

This role is ideal for a former senior NCO who understands combat arms formations from the inside out, is comfortable briefing commanders and their teams at every echelon, and wants to shape how the Army adopts next-generation targeting technology. As CoVar's DoD-facing work grows, this role may expand to support additional programs beyond AiTR.

What You'll Do

  • Build strategic relationships: Engage with Brigade, Division, and Corps level leadership to build relationships and awareness of CoVar AiTR product capabilities.
  • Support unit-level fielding: Liaise with Battalion-level leadership to understand, demonstrate, and field CoVar AiTR systems on unit equipment.
  • Travel to support the force: Travel to unit locations to demonstrate and troubleshoot CoVar AiTR systems on unit equipment.
  • Brief commanders and their teams: Prepare and deliver product integration and impact briefs for unit commanders and their teams, whether selling new technologies or explaining fielded ones.
  • Inform engineering with operational insight: Provide insight to CoVar engineers on using-unit equipment, doctrine, SOPs, and TTPs related to camera-based fire control, C2, and/or ISR systems.

Minimum Qualifications

  • MOS: Served in MOS 11-series or 19-series.
  • Rank: Retired or separated at the rank of E8 or E9 (11Z6O or 19Z6O preferred).
  • Key additional skill identifiers: J3, A8, K8, or R8.
  • Clearance: Eligibility for a US security clearance is required; an active Secret clearance or above is preferred.

Benefits

  • Competitive salary, cash bonus, equity structure, and 401k with employer contributions
  • Excellent health care coverage, including dental and vision plans
  • Parental leave
  • Short-term and long-term disability insurance
  • Life insurance
  • Flexible work schedule
  • Tuition support
  • PTO and paid holidays
