Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Information Science, Information Systems, Information Technology, Computer Science, or related, plus a minimum of 8 years of experience overseeing/leading information technology solutions and personnel for an organization. In addition, the following are required:
- Expert knowledge of technology environments, including software development/deployment and IT infrastructure, including public computing with technical experience with systems networking, server/hosting environments, databases, web development, and user support; systems analysis, process improvement, and data-driven decision-making; project management principles and experience successfully managing medium and large-scale projects. Superior analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Demonstrated experience in planning, development, and modifying existing systems, and in adapting proven and innovative approaches in formulating programming specifications for new systems
- Ability to advise the Director of Information Technology on new developments and advanced techniques in information and communications technology.
- Expert ability to evaluate software packages and determine their appropriateness to specific situations and their potential impact on the IT environment.
- Ability to work collaboratively at all levels and across organizational boundaries and communicate effectively with a variety of audiences, including high-level representatives of other agencies, institutions, and the public at large, and to communicate information, approaches, and ideas to technical and non-technical audiences.
- Excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills.
