Work Environment

This position is primarily remote, allowing for flexibility and convenience for our therapists while maintaining effective patient interactions through telehealth platforms. Additionally, our outpatient office is equipped with the latest technology to facilitate seamless communication and documentation. Working hours are generally Monday through Friday from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with some flexibility required to accommodate patient availability.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough mental health assessments to evaluate patient needs and establish tailored treatment plans.
• Utilize evidence-based practices including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Solution-Focused Therapy to deliver effective individual, couples, and family therapy sessions.
• Lead psychoeducational and support groups aimed at fostering a supportive community and addressing common mental health topics.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including psychiatrists and psychologists, to ensure comprehensive and holistic patient care.
• Provide crisis intervention services, assisting patients in navigating mental health emergencies with empathy and skill.
• Educate clients about their mental health conditions and treatment options, empowering them to utilize available community resources.
• Maintain accurate and confidential electronic health records (EHR) in adherence to legal and ethical standards.
• Engage in regular case consultations and participate in team meetings to share insights and enhance treatment strategies.
• Continuously update your knowledge base by staying informed about the latest research and trends in mental health therapy.

Patient Population / Client Focus

As a Mental Health Counselor at Clear Pathway Counseling Services, you will work with a diverse client base suffering from a variety of mental health disorders such as depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, and substance use issues. Your therapeutic interventions will be crucial in guiding these individuals, couples, and families toward emotional stability and improved quality of life.

Qualifications

• A Bachelor's Degree in Social Work, Psychology, or related field is required; candidates with further education (Master's or Doctorate) are preferred.
• Valid licensure as a Mental Health Counselor (LMHC, LCSW, LMFT, LCSW-R) in New York State is necessary.
• Demonstrated knowledge of mental health disorders and proven experience in applying various therapeutic modalities.
• Strong interpersonal communication skills that foster connection and trust with clients.
• Sound judgment, ethical adherence, and firm boundaries in professional practice.
• Proficiency with electronic health records (EHR) systems and other relevant software applications that streamline service delivery.

Preferred Experience

• Experience working in an outpatient psychiatric setting or equivalent environment.

• Familiarity with telehealth platforms and providing virtual care to clients.
