Role
This role is for a Data Architect on a close-knit team supporting Air Force Special Operations Command (AFSOC) at Hurlburt Field, FL. This team is at the center of helping the command empower and leverage its data for more effective analysis and decision making. As a subject matter expert, the Data Architect will leverage their experience to gather and derive insights from complex data, assist the command with development initiatives, and facilitate digital transformation efforts. The work done in this role has a direct impact on mission readiness as the team's efforts go toward making a more resilient and data-driven organization.

Responsibilities
Data Architects develop models, policies, and standards to govern what data is collected, how it is stored, arranged, and integrated for use in systems across the enterprise. ย This position will focus on the value of holistic systems. They map out the interactions in a pipeline and diagram out those interactions.ย
A Data Architect shall perform the following tasks:
ย ย Translate requirements into technical specifications, including data streams, integrations, transformations, databases, data lakes, and data warehousesย
ย ย Architect ingestion and storage of data from multiple data sources, relational SQL and NoSQL databases such as SQL, MongoDB, and other platform APIs
ย ย Work with database administrators and analysts to secure easy access to data by creating database solutions, evaluating requirements, and preparing design reports
ย ย Define data architecture framework, standards and principles related to modeling, metadata, and security
ย ย Define reference architectures and data flowsย
ย ย Prepare detailed reports for leadership and Directorates by analyzing and interpreting data
Requirements
- A minimum of 1 year of hands-on Data Science experience is required.
- Bachelor's Degree in a STEM field is required.
- Verifiable work experience building large scale data workflows making data available to data engineers, data scientists, and machine learning engineers.
- Proficient in modeling frameworks like Universal Modeling Language (UML), Agile Development, and Git Operations.
- Secret Clearance
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with DoD
- Master's degree in Operations Research, Industrial Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Statistics, Physics, Computer Science, or related fields.ย
- Top Secret Clearance with SCI Eligibility
