Job description

Kids Ministry Coordinator

City Life Church | Chilliwack, BC

City Life Church is looking for a relational, organized and capable Kids Ministry Coordinator who is passionate about creating an exceptional ministry experience for children, families and volunteers.

This is an opportunity for someone who loves both people and execution — someone who can build relationships with families and volunteers while also making sure the details behind a great Sunday experience are handled with excellence.

The Kids Ministry Coordinator will take ownership of the week-to-week coordination of City Life Kids, working alongside the Ministries Director and ministry team to create environments where children are safe, known, welcomed and excited to be part of church.

What You'll Do

Lead the Sunday experience

  • Provide visible, confident leadership within Kids Ministry on Sunday mornings
  • Ensure classrooms, supplies, curriculum and volunteer teams are ready
  • Welcome and support children, parents and volunteers
  • Troubleshoot challenges and help Sundays run smoothly

Build and support a great volunteer team

  • Coordinate and communicate volunteer schedules
  • Develop strong relationships with volunteers and help them succeed in their roles
  • Help recruit, onboard and equip new volunteers
  • Contribute to a healthy, encouraging and accountable team culture

Create excellent ministry environments

  • Coordinate curriculum and weekly ministry preparation
  • Maintain organized, welcoming and well-prepared children's spaces
  • Ensure ministry processes and safety practices are consistently followed
  • Look for ways to continually improve the experience for children and families

Care for children and families

  • Build relationships with families and help new families feel at home
  • Listen well and respond appropriately to questions or concerns
  • Help create a ministry where children are known, valued and genuinely excited to participate

Who We're Looking For

You may be a great fit if you:

  • Genuinely enjoy working with children, families and volunteers
  • Are naturally warm, welcoming and relational
  • Are highly organized and known for following through
  • Can lead calmly and confidently when Sunday mornings get busy
  • Enjoy building teams and helping volunteers thrive
  • Notice details and take initiative rather than waiting to be told what needs to happen
  • Communicate clearly and work well as part of a ministry team
  • Have previous experience in children's ministry, education, childcare, volunteer leadership or another people-focused environment

Bible college or formal ministry training is welcome, but not required. We are more interested in finding someone with the right character, leadership ability, organizational strength and heart for ministry.

Most importantly, we're looking for someone who shares the Christian faith and is genuinely aligned with the mission, values and ministry of City Life Church.

The Opportunity

City Life Kids is an important part of the life of our church. This role has the opportunity to make a meaningful impact not only on Sunday mornings, but in the lives of children, parents and the volunteers who serve them.

If you love bringing people together, creating excellent environments and helping children discover that church is a place where they are known and belong, we'd love to hear from you.

Position: Full-time

Schedule: TBD + Sunday Morning

Reports to: Ministry Lead / Ministries Director
