Key Responsibilities

• Conduct detailed assessments and screenings to accurately evaluate patients' mental health needs and collaboratively develop tailored treatment plans.
• Provide short-term individual counseling services and crisis interventions to patients dealing with various psychological concerns, including anxiety, depression, and trauma.
• Facilitate support groups and workshops, focusing on critical topics such as coping strategies, self-care practices, and personal development.
• Work closely with interdisciplinary teams, including medical staff and community organizations, to create comprehensive care pathways for patients.
• Engage in outreach initiatives, including mental health awareness campaigns and wellness events aimed at fostering a supportive community.
• Maintain a high standard of professional documentation, ensuring that records are accurate, confidential, and comply with all ethical and legal standards.

Patient Population / Client Focus

As a licensed mental health therapist, you will serve a diverse population of patients, many of whom are facing acute mental health challenges in a hospital setting. Your work will directly impact the lives of individuals through therapeutic interventions and ongoing support, guiding them toward improved mental health outcomes.

Qualifications

• Possess an active state license as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LICSW), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC), or Psychologist.
• Hold a Bachelor’s degree in Counseling, Psychology, Social Work, or a related field; a Master’s or Doctorate degree is preferred.
• Have a comprehensive understanding of the unique mental health challenges faced by patients in hospital settings.
• Exhibit strong communication and interpersonal skills necessary for effective engagement with patients and interdisciplinary teams.
• Knowledge of evidence-based practices and brief therapy models applicable in outpatient and hospital environments.
• Demonstrate the ability to manage a diverse patient caseload in a fast-paced and dynamic work environment.

Preferred Experience

• Previous experience working in a hospital or healthcare environment is highly desirable.
• Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems and documentation processes.
• Experience in community outreach or public speaking related to mental health awareness initiatives.
