FOR THIS TYPE OF EMPLOYMENT, STATE LAW REQUIRES A NATIONAL AND STATE CRIMINAL HISTORY BACKGROUND CHECK AND HAVE A LETTER, PROVIDED BY THE INDIVIDUAL, FROM THE CABINET FOR HEALTH AND FAMILY SERVICES STATING THE EMPLOYEE IS CLEAR TO HIRE BASED ON NO FINDINGS OF SUBSTANTIATED CHILD ABUSE OR NEGLECT FOUND THROUGH A BACKGROUND CHECK OF CHILD ABUSE AND NEGLECT RECORDS MAINTAINED BY THE CABINET FOR HEALTH AND FAMILY SERVICES AS A CONDITION OF EMPLOYMENT.
 

POSITION: School Resource Officer POSITION SUMMARY: The Christian County Public Schools Police Department supports and facilitates the educational process within the Christian County Public Schools. School Resource Officers (SROs) are responsible for building security and proactively interacting with staff, students, and parents. They also enforce local, state, and federal laws, investigate crimes, maintain public order, prevent and detect criminal activity, and protect life and property. QUALIFICATIONS/ REQUIREMENTS:
  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Perform various law enforcement activities that involve significant physical demands such as lifting, running, carrying, bending, climbing, and the ability to subdue offenders.
REPORTS TO: Chief of School Safety and Security/Director of School Safety CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSE:
  • Valid driver's license
  • KLEC-certified law enforcement officer
  • Kentucky Peace Officers Professional Standards (POPS) certified
