Key Responsibilities

Classroom & Curriculum Management

• Instruct children using an approved curriculum designed to promote social, emotional, physical, and intellectual development.
• Create and maintain a safe, clean, and age-appropriate classroom environment.
• Tailor learning experiences to accommodate individual learning styles, backgrounds, and special talents.
• Active participation with children during both classroom and playground activities.

Child Guidance & Safety

• Guide children using positive reinforcement, treating every child with dignity, warmth, and respect.
• Ensure constant supervision of children in compliance with center policies and state regulations.

Family & Team Engagement

• Plan and conduct parent-teacher conferences and provide daily written updates on child progress.
• Partner with the Center Director on parent communications, operational needs, and administrative follow-ups.
• Maintain strict confidentiality regarding all children, families, and center records.
• Attend all required staff meetings, professional development workshops, and center events.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Education: Associate degree or higher in Early Childhood Education or a related field (preferred).
• Credentials: North Carolina DCDEE Lead Teacher Credentials (or equivalent state licensing qualifications).
• Clearances: Documented clean criminal background check and compliance with all state health/safety requirements.
• Professional Development: Commitment to completing all required annual state licensing training hours.

Core Competencies & Skills

• Strong foundational knowledge of early childhood education curricula and state childcare regulations.
• Outstanding verbal and written communication skills with strong customer service standards.
• Proven ability to manage classroom dynamics, resolve conflicts, and problem-solve effectively.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Flexibility to work varied shifts consistent with operating hours to meet operational needs.
• High level of integrity, honesty, and professional ethics.
