Job Title: Health Center Site Supervisor

Reports To: Health Center Director of Nursing

Department: Health Center Nursing

FLSA Status: Hourly Non-Exempt

SUMMARY

The Clinic Site Supervisor (CSS) supports the mission of Chambers Community Health Centers, Inc. (CCHC) by helping to coordinate, train, and manage the activities of medical assistants (MAs) in a manner that reflects superior customer service and ensures timely patient care. The Clinic Site Supervisor works collaboratively with all internal and external customers in compliance with each of the CCHC core values. This position works as a member of a care team to support patients and families in self-management, self-efficacy, and behavioral change. Care team members are expected to assess and manage the health needs of the patient population and to communicate effectively with all patients, especially vulnerable populations.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Bring to the attention of the Health Center Director of Nursing staff performance concerns
• Facilitate daily huddles with Health Center staff
• Monitor workflows for optimal floor coverage, such as floating, x-ray and lab and assist where/when needed
• Monitor clinic schedule and assist with rooming, vitals, or other services as needed
• Instruct patient and family members regarding treatments, educational materials, and/or follow-up care (ie Fit Tests); ensure logs are maintained
• Ensure sample closet is maintained and inventoried monthly
• Ensure logs and daily QC is completed (i.e. refrigerator, accucheck)
• Train newly hired staff in applicable clinic processes
• Provide continuous education/training for process improvement
• Ensure staff documents consistently and correctly in electronic health record
• Collaborate on improvements to Nurse/MA processes
• Maintain regular contact with employees, medical staff, and patients to discuss services, problems, and exchange information
• Meet regularly with the Health Center Director of Nursing to review activities
• Manage medical supplies and medication stock at assigned site to include inventory, establishing PAR levels, ordering, and stocking
• Monitors site for environmental concerns and reports to Health Center Director of Nursing; follows up to ensure items are addressed
• Ensures coverage for all clinic schedules and community events
• Holds staff accountable for performance, includes relevant coaching, counseling and performance evaluations
• Keeps Health Center Director of Nursing involved in all communication regarding issues related to staff performance, health center maintenance and equipment needs or supply issues
• Deal appropriately and professionally with people of various cultures and social status, as well as outside entities; serve as the patient advocate and assist to resolve patient/family complaints
• Adhere to all Chambers Health appearance standards and maintains a professional dress at all times while working.
• Maintains friendly, efficient, positive customer service attitude toward customers, clients, and co-workers. Is responsive to customer needs.
• Uses Service Excellence model when interacting with patients, clients, and guests.
• Demonstrates commitment to professional growth and competence by adherence to hospital and departmental annual training commitments.
• Participates in self-development by attending mandatory in-services and educational programs appropriate to the goals and needs of the department.
• Adheres to all established systems and training programs to provide a safe environment.
• Maintains compliance with Chambers Health standards of operation. Always adheres to Chambers Health Business Conduct Policy. Maintains all records and reports to ensure compliance, with all local, state, and federal regulations and codes and as defined by the Nurse Practice Act.
• Maintains compliance with all requirements of Federal, State and local regulations and guidelines including the Civil Rights Act of 1964, as amended, the Age Discrimination in Employment Act of 1967, as amended, and the Americans with Disabilities Act, as amended.
• Performs other related duties as may be assigned by Medical Director, Health Center Director of Nursing.

• Registered Medical Assistant or other clinical professional of equal or greater skill level
• A minimum of 5 years experience in a professional clinic setting
• Minimum of 1 year experience in leadership, desired
