Machine Operator Sr.- 1st Shift

Job Summary/Purpose: The Machine Operator is responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining the machinery. This role ensures that machines run efficiently, safely, and produce high-quality components according to specifications. The operator must be able to perform complete setups, conduct quality inspections, and make necessary adjustments to maintain production standards.
Key Responsibilities/Duties:
  • Perform all machine operations, including complete setup, in accordance with company standards.
  • Set up and operate various machines (e.g., roll formers, press brakes, shears, punch presses) used in cable tray manufacturing.
  • Use measuring tools such as tape measures and micrometers to verify product dimensions and make machine adjustments as needed.
  • Identify and set up equipment, including jigs and fixtures, for specific machines and production runs.
  • Recognize and identify different types of materials used in production.
  • Understand and select the appropriate tooling for each machine; identify when tooling requires replacement or repair.
  • Keep tooling organized and stored in designated areas.
  • Perform quality inspections on finished products to ensure they meet specifications.
  • Lubricate machines, perform routine oil checks, and report any mechanical issues.
  • Operate forklifts and other material handling equipment safely.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area.
  • Communicate effectively with colleagues and supervisors to meet production goals and deadlines.
  • Adapt to changes in production schedules, tasks, or processes as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support production operations

Required Qualifications/Experience:
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings
  • Skilled in using hand tools, grinders and precision measuring tools
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality and safety

Preferred Qualification:
  • Previous experience operating industrial machinery in a manufacturing environment.

Working Conditions/Physical Requirements:
  • Exposure to noise, dust and metal particles

  • Personal Protective Equipment is required based on area/machine/job
