Accelerate, a workforce development initiative funded by the U.S. Department of Energy, is now accepting applications for the Fall 2026 internship cohort! (Sept 8- December 18, 2026)

This is a unique opportunity to work with Clean Cities and Communities, a DOE partnership focused on advancing transportation technologies locally in urban, suburban, and rural communities to strengthen the nation’s environment, energy security, and economic prosperity. These coalitions work to deploy affordable, efficient, fuel-saving technologies and practices; and energy-efficient mobility systems.

This internship, available through Austin-based non-profit Central Texas Clean Cities will give students the opportunity to increase awareness of our program and DOE tools to expand stakeholder awareness and use of advanced vehicle technologies, alternative fuels, and practices that increase efficiencies and reduce costs. Job Description: Make a difference! We are a small non profit in Austin educating organizations with vehicle fleets to educate them about available fuel and technology options like bio-diesel, electricity, ethanol, hydrogen, natural gas, propane, hybrids, micro-transit and the benefits of reducing vehicle miles traveled.

The intern will help research and contact potential new stakeholders, assistant in revamping the coalition’s contact databases, work with our monday.com and MailChimp stakeholder contact systems, create content highlighting members/stakeholders through the Fleet Recognition program, create a system to store and document coalition history, and support webinar logistics and outreach.

Eligible students: Currently enrolled college Junior or Senior
