Position Summary:


The Personal Banker is responsible for developing and deepening customer relationships by providing exceptional service, identifying financial needs, and recommending appropriate banking solutions. This position serves as a primary point of contact for customers, supports deposit and lending activities, promotes Bank products and services, and ensures compliance with all regulatory and operational requirements while contributing to branch growth and profitability.


Essential Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Build and maintain strong customer relationships through exceptional service, proactive communication, and ongoing financial conversations. 
  • Open, service, and maintain consumer deposit accounts while ensuring all required documentation and compliance requirements are completed accurately. 
  • Identify opportunities to deepen customer relationships through referrals, cross-selling, and promotion of Bank products and services. 
  • Assist customers with account maintenance, digital banking enrollment, online and mobile banking support, and other service requests.
  • Resolve customer issues and concerns professionally while balancing customer needs with Bank policies and risk management practices. 
  • Support for consumer lending activities and origination of consumer loans; including management of existing consumer portfolio.   
  • Assist with small business banking needs and direct customers to appropriate business banking resources when necessary. 
  • Participate in customer outreach efforts, relationship reviews, community activities, and branch sales initiatives to support growth objectives. 
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of Bank products, services, policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements. 
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable banking regulations, including BSA/AML, CIP, OFAC, privacy, information security, and fraud prevention requirements.
  • Accurately complete operational and transactional activities while maintaining high standards for quality, accuracy, and customer confidentiality.
  • Support branch operational needs and contribute to achieving branch service, growth, and profitability goals.

Requirements:

Qualifications/Skills/Abilities:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.  
  • 1–3 years of experience in retail banking, customer service, or sales.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to work flexible hours and adapt  to changing priorities.
  • Exceptional customer service and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to build long-term customer relationships and expand existing relationships through needs-based conversations.
  • Strong judgment and decision-making abilities when handling customer requests and operational issues.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with team members.
  • Professional appearance, communication style, and customer-focused attitude.
  • Ability to meet established referral, service, and performance goals while maintaining compliance standards.
