Industrial Electrician - Union Position

CenTrio is seeking an experienced Industrial Electrician to join our Syracuse operations team. This position supports critical energy infrastructure systems that provide steam and chilled water services throughout the community.

This is a full-time union position offering strong benefits, stable year-round work, career growth opportunities, and exposure to a wide range of industrial electrical equipment and systems.

What You'll Do

• Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain industrial electrical systems and equipment
• Work on switchgear, VFDs, motor starters, transformers, generators, UPS systems, and motors
• Read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and wiring diagrams
• Install, test, and maintain electrical equipment and components
• Perform preventive maintenance and document completed work
• Support plant operations in maintaining reliable 24/7 utility service
• Follow all plant and safety procedures while working in an industrial environment

Qualifications

• Journeyman Electrician experience OR completion of an electrical apprenticeship program
• Industrial electrical maintenance experience preferred
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• Ability to read schematics and technical drawings
• Knowledge of NEC and industrial safety practices
• Valid driver's license required
• Ability to work overtime, weekends, or holidays when needed

Preferred Experience

• Power generation or utility plant experience
• Experience with medium voltage equipment
• VFD troubleshooting and motor controls
• PLC exposure
• City of Syracuse Master Electrician License (preferred but not required)
