Job Summary

Caribbean Spice, Inc in Gainesville, FL is looking for one back of house (BOH) with food prep experience to join our team. We are located on 1310 NW 23 Rd Ave Suite C. Our ideal candidate is a self-starter, ambitious, and engaged. Position comes with growth opportunities for candidate that excels. Position starts at 20hr/week.

General Accountabilities

Pastry production
Run food from the kitchen to the front of house
Assisting with washing dishes when needed
Weigh and measure ingredients
Mix and blend
Roll, knead, cut, or shape dough to form sweet rolls, patty crusts, or other products.
Set oven temperatures and monitor or modify as needed
Food prep and cooking
Clean and sanitize workstation and equipment
Operate dough machinery

Job Qualifications

Motivated to do what is necessary to keep the restaurant clean
Dedicated to working as a team towards one goal
Nimble and flexible with changing priorities
Proven work experience in a back of house role

Caribbean Spice, Inc is a restaurant in Gainesville FL serving made authentic, made from scratch Jamaican cuisine. Caribbean Spice has been in continuous operations since 1986 and specializes in tradition Jamaican pastries and savory food favorites such as Braised Oxtails and Jerk Chicken. Our restaurant operates Mondays- Saturdays from 9am to 7pm and our Food Truck operates and local venues on a schedule.
