The organization provides in-home Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) therapy across Iowa, with a focus on early intervention, individualized care, joyful outcomes, and meaningful progress. Carelinks ABA uses a family-centered, evidence-based model, collaborating closely with caregivers and other professionals to build social, communication, academic, and daily living skills that support success at home and in the community. Carelinks ABA is dedicated to championing each child’s potential and creating lasting impact for families and communities.

Role Description The Behavioral Health Technician at Carelinks ABA is a part-time, on-site role based in Independence, IA. In this position, the technician implements individualized ABA treatment plans under the supervision of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) or clinical supervisor, providing direct 1:1 support to children in home and community settings. Day-to-day responsibilities include running structured teaching programs, collecting accurate data on targeted behaviors and skills, and using positive behavior strategies to support skill development and reduce challenging behaviors. The technician collaborates with caregivers and clinical team members to ensure consistency, participates in team meetings and trainings, and follows evidence-based protocols and ethical guidelines. The role also involves maintaining clear documentation, supporting generalization of skills to everyday routines, and promoting a safe, supportive, and engaging environment for each child.

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of Behavior Analysis and Applied Behavior Analysis, with the ability to apply behavior principles in direct client sessions.
  • Strong Communication skills for collaborating with families, supervisors, and team members, and for documenting progress clearly and professionally.
  • Experience or foundational understanding of Behavioral Intervention strategies to support skill acquisition and behavior reduction.
  • Background or coursework in Psychology or related fields, with interest in child development, autism, and evidence-based practices.
  • High school diploma required; associate or bachelor’s degree in psychology, education, social work, or a related discipline preferred.
  • Ability to follow treatment plans, accept feedback, and participate in ongoing training and supervision.
  • Reliability in attendance, time management, and documentation, with the ability to work in families’ homes and community settings.
  • Commitment to person-centered, non-discriminatory care and adherence to professional and ethical standards in behavioral health.
