    Job description

    Overview
Flexible Schedule โ€ข Travel Covered โ€ข $100-$135/hr โ€ข Practice Across Ohio
If you've ever wanted to practice great medicine and still have the freedom to enjoy your time off - this is the role you've been waiting for.
CareVet's Traveling DVM program is designed for experienced veterinarians who want flexibility without sacrificing clinical quality, earning potential, or support. Think of it like travel nursing - but for DVMs, built around how you actually want to live.
    The Schedule
Choose the structure that fits your life:
    โ€ข 2 weeks on / 2 weeks off - averaging 20 hours per week
โ€ข 3 weeks on / 1 week off - for those who prefer longer rotations
Both options are available - we'll build the schedule around you.
    Compensation & Coverage
    โ€ข $135/hr | Part-time, no benefits
    โ€ข $100/hr | With full benefits package
โ€ข $2,500 annual CE stipend + paid CE time
โ€ข Professional dues and state license fees covered by CareVet
โ€ข Flight, hotel and meals covered
    Where You'll Practice
Our traveling DVMs rotate across high-performing, community-rooted hospitals throughout Ohio - from vibrant cities to welcoming small towns.
You'll experience a variety of practice styles, client bases, and caseloads, all while being supported by a consistent and connected CareVet network.
New locations are added regularly as our footprint continues to grow.
    The Medicine
CareVet hospitals are equipped with modern diagnostics and treatment capabilities, giving you the tools to practice high-quality medicine at every stop.
We prioritize clinical autonomy - no rigid protocols or unnecessary oversight. You'll be trusted to make the right decisions for your patients, with the support of a collaborative network behind you.
    The Team
With 93% retention across DVMs and support staff, our teams speak for themselves.
You'll walk into hospitals with experienced technicians, supportive leadership, and teams that genuinely value collaboration - making it easy to step in and focus on patient care.
    Why Traveling DVMs Choose CareVet
โ€ข True flexibility - no rigid FTE requirements
โ€ข All travel logistics handled for you
โ€ข Strong clinical environments across every hospital
โ€ข Access to CareCoach for ongoing career development
โ€ข Employee Assistance Program, including access to a licensed social worker
Tell Us What Works for You
We know every DVM is different - and we don't expect you to fit a mold. When you apply, let us know:
    โ€ข Your availability (part-time or full-time interest)
    โ€ข Preferred schedule (2/2 or 3/1)
โ€ข Areas of Ohio you're most interested in
โ€ข Any schedule preferences that matter to you
We'll build the role around your life - not the other way around.
