Job description

We are seeking a detail-oriented Accountant specializing in Property Management and Construction to join our team approximately 25-35 hours per week. You will be responsible for managing day to day financial operations related to properties managed and construction projects.

Duties

  • Prepare financial statements for multiple companies on a monthly basis on both accrual and cash basis.
  • Handle all day to day accounts payable and receivable activities using accounting software such as quickbooks, sage contractor or rent manager.
  • Responsible for preparing payroll and paying payroll taxes on a timely basis
  • Assist with yearend tax preparation and budgeting activities including 1099 preparation
  • Assist with obtaining construction and/or rental permits from various government agencies.
  • Calculate tenant related charges in accordance with lease terms and prepare annual cam reconciliations
  • Work with insurance brokers to obtain necessary insurance coverage for the properties and construction projects as needed

Skills

  • Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines
  • Strong analytical skills combined with a solid understanding of accounting. Basic job cost understanding is also necessary
  • Must be detail oriented and able to work independently
  • Proficiency in, or ability to learn accounting software such a quickbooks, sage contractor and rent manager. Will also need to be familiar with excel and word.
  • Ability to learn quickly and adapt to changing circumstances .
