Job description

Job Summary:
Canonical is seeking a software engineer with a passion for building and validating resilient distributed systems. The role involves developing CI pipelines, enhancing testing tools, and collaborating with globally distributed teams to ensure high quality of Canonical's cloud solutions.
Responsibilities:
โ€ข Create automated testing approaches and infrastructure for validating reliability, performance, and resilience of cloud orchestration tools and applications
โ€ข Enable engineering teams across Canonical to develop software with confidence by making distributed system testing tooling available across the company
โ€ข Enhance continuous integration pipelines for deploying and testing Canonical's cloud native products such as Kubeflow
โ€ข Deploy, manage, and debug highly distributed systems
โ€ข Monitor and report on automated testing efforts
โ€ข Collaborate daily with a globally distributed team
Qualifications:
Required:
โ€ข Solid background in modern test processes and strategies
โ€ข Experience with Python or Go development
โ€ข Strong object oriented development skills
โ€ข Ability to develop and ship production grade modern web applications
โ€ข Working knowledge of continuous integration tools such as Jenkins, CircleCI, GitHub CI
โ€ข Knowledge of networking technologies and fundamentals
โ€ข Solid understanding of Linux system architecture
โ€ข A capacity for complex abstract thinking
โ€ข Capability for 2-4 weeks of international travel travel per year
Preferred:
โ€ข Collecting and analyzing large multidimensional datasets
โ€ข Operating data platforms: key-value stores, relational or document databases, event buses
โ€ข Work with cloud technologies such as OpenStack, Kubernetes, Terraform and AWS
โ€ข Developing AI/ML pipelines
