Job Duties

Start Date: 03/20/2026

End Date: 11/01/2026

Hours: 40 hours/week, Monday - Friday, 8 hours/day, 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. (Saturday & Sunday, 0 hours/day)

Job Duties:

Duties may include: workers will pin and rope balled and burlap trees, tightening wire cages with various hand tool. Applying granulated fertilizer to all trees. Plant new transplants (spring and fall) in containers with hand scoops/shovels and new field bareroot transplants. Remove/install winter covers/protection. Use bamboo or fiberglass rods to stake trees. Prune trees with hand pruners as needed. Digging up and preparing sold trees, Maintain nursery with regular mowing, watering, weeding, and general cleanup, harvest trees and shrubs when they become of age/maturity. Maintain nursery grounds daily, providing a safe and clean work environment & other related Nursery Worker activities

Possible weekend/holiday work.

Must be 18 years of age. Worker has 3 days from date of hire to show proof of legal authorization to work in the United States. Drug/alcohol/tobacco free work zone. Static strength; exert max muscle force to lift, push, pull, unload, carry objects up to 80lbs (possible 2-person); may climb, walk, stand, reach, balance, sit, stoop, bend, squat, wash, clean: equip, grounds, area. All applicants must be able, willing and qualified to perform work described and must be available for the entire period specified. Based on Employer's discretion/cost: Worker may have random drug/alcohol testing during employment: positive test/refusal to abide = dismissal. Variable weather conditions may apply.

The start and end of the workday depend on crop and weather conditions, which means work may begin or end earlier or later than usual. Evening and/or night hours may be required.

Minimum Education Required

No High School Diploma or GED required.

Minimum Experience Required

Three (3) months experience.

Job Benefits

EMPLOYER ASSURANCES: Work guaranteed for 3/4 of contract period, starting with date of arrival at work site. Employer provides free housing for workers whose residence is beyond normal commuting distance. Employer pays inbound transportation and subsistence to work site upon 50% completion of work contract for workers whose residence is beyond normal commuting distance. Daily subsistence will be provided at a rate of at least $16.28 per day during travel to a maximum of $68.00 per day with receipts. Required work-related tools and supplies provided free of charge by employer.

Effective Jan 1, 2024, per MN State Statute, an employee will earn one hour of paid sick and safe time for every 30 hours worked, up to at least 48 hours of accrued Earned Sick and Safe Time (ESST) per year, provided the employee works a minimum of 80 hours in a calendar year.
