About the Route: Canadys Consulting LLC holds a U.S. Postal Service Highway Contract Route (HCR 68660) running between Bartlett, NE and H060, NE. We're looking for a reliable, detail-oriented independent contractor to operate this route as a 1099 owner-operator.

Start Date: October 1, 2026

Daily route summary:

  • Report to Bartlett Post Office ~10:25 AM to case and load mail (~68 boxes)
  • Depart Bartlett, NE ~11:15 AM
  • Arrive H060, NE ~2:00 PM
  • Complete mail mark-up at H060 (2:00–2:05 PM)
  • Round trip: ~78.3 miles/day
  • ~303 service days/year

What You'll Do

  • Load, transport, and unload all classes of mail between Bartlett and H060 post offices
  • Case and sort mail (~68 boxes handled per trip)
  • Exchange mail through locked lobbies, vestibules, or collection boxes as directed
  • Handle accountable mail (registered, certified, insured, COD) with signature receipts when required
  • Safeguard mail at all times in a locked, weatherproof compartment
  • Report any delays, road hazards, or service issues promptly
  • Maintain your vehicle and required equipment in safe, presentable condition

What You Need to Bring Vehicle:

  • Reliable vehicle (van, SUV, or pickup with cargo shell) with a minimum of 120 cubic feet of usable, enclosed, lockable, weatherproof cargo space
  • Roof-mounted warning light, visible from all directions (magnetic/temporary is fine)
  • Ability to maintain the vehicle in good working order for the life of the contract
  • Current, valid vehicle liability insurance

You, personally:

  • At least 18 years old
  • Minimum 2 years' licensed driving experience
  • Clean driving record (a 5-year MVR will be required; 3-year where that's all your state issues)
  • Able to pass USPS contractor screening: background/criminal history check, fingerprinting, and photo ID — required before you can begin work
  • Basic spoken and written English proficiency (you'll interact directly with postal staff and customers)
  • A cell phone for two-way communication while on route
  • Comfortable working outdoors and reporting for duty in most weather conditions
  • Professional, courteous, reliable — this is a public-facing federal contract; no exceptions on conduct or punctuality

Compensation This is a 1099 independent contractor position — you're responsible for your own taxes, vehicle costs, and insurance. No benefits are provided. Payment schedule: bi-weekly (~$1,440 per 12-day pay period)

Why Drive for Canadys Consulting LLC

  • Long-term job security. This route is contracted through 2032 — six years of consistent, predictable work.
  • Consistent, short daily hours. ~3 hours 40 minutes a day, same schedule every day (10:25 AM–2:05 PM), six days a week. Home by early afternoon, with evenings and Sundays free.
  • Predictable pay. Fixed per-trip rate — you know what you're earning before the week starts.
  • Local, low-mileage route. ~78 miles round trip, entirely within the Bartlett–H060 area — no long-haul, no overnight stays.
  • You're the owner-operator. You run your own vehicle as an independent contractor, within the fixed route and schedule required by the contract.
