Calm Therapy, Inc. is actively seeking a dedicated and compassionate Licensed Mental Health Counselor to join our team in San Jose, California. In this full-time, remote position, you will focus on providing high-quality psychotherapy and counseling services to our elderly clients, helping them navigate life’s challenges and improve their mental health and overall well-being.

Work Environment

This role will be fully remote, allowing you the flexibility to manage your schedule while ensuring a full caseload. You will work in an outpatient setting where team collaboration is encouraged through regular virtual meetings. Our digital tools facilitate efficient conversions and record-keeping while fostering a supportive online environment among like-minded professionals.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, coordinate, and evaluate individualized clinical treatment plans for clients with both acute and chronic mental health conditions. This crucial step will involve assessing client needs during initial consultations and respecting their unique histories and preferences.
• Provide psychotherapy services through telehealth, ensuring clients receive consistent care while adapting to their comfort levels and circumstances.
• Prepare comprehensive intake summaries, treatment plans, and case documentation while maintaining strict confidentiality. Ensure adherence to state and NCQA regulations as well as established professional standards in mental health care.
• Engage in ongoing client assessments to identify evolving needs and modifying treatment strategies accordingly.
• Participate in team meetings and case conferences to share insights, assess progress, and enhance treatment efficacy.
• Research and connect clients with additional resources, maintaining a network of support that extends beyond psychotherapy sessions.
• Deliver counseling and psychotherapy sessions focused on addressing emotional distress, coping mechanisms, and life transitions, ensuring accessibility and impact through teletherapy.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Our primary focus is on elderly clients who often face complex mental health challenges, such as depression, anxiety, and adjustments to life changes. In this role, you will be instrumental in cultivating trust and establishing rapport as you address their psychological needs. By adopting a holistic approach, you will support not only their mental health but also their overall quality of life.

Qualifications

• A Master’s degree in Social Work, Social Welfare, Clinical or Counseling Psychology, or a related field from an accredited institution is required.
• Current licensure in California as an LCSW, LPC, LCPC, LMHC, or LMFT is mandatory.
• Proven ability to work independently with self-direction while maintaining a focus on high-quality care delivery.
• Proficiency in relevant software and technology, including Microsoft Office Suite (particularly Word) and telehealth platforms.

Preferred Experience

• Experience working with geriatric populations is preferred but not required. A background in managing a diverse range of mental health conditions within this demographic would be advantageous.
• Familiarity with clinical documentation standards and best practices in outpatient therapy settings will enhance your contribution to the role.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and effectively manage multiple client cases while ensuring personalized, high-quality care.

Compensation and Benefits

The salary for this position ranges from USD 80,000 to 122,000 per year, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
