Job Summary

Under the general direction of the Maintenance Foreman, the Bottling Mechanic is responsible for the planned and corrective maintenance of bottling line equipment and support systems. Additionally, the Bottling Mechanic will support bottling line setup, changeover, and operation, as well as continuous improvement efforts related to Maintenance Team and bottling line performance.

Essential Functions
  • Perform preventative, corrective and emergent maintenance on mechanical, pneumatic, electrical and hydraulic bottling line components and systems.
  • Maintain, troubleshoot and improve various bottling line automated controls, to include installation and programming of electronic controls (i.e. VFD/HMI/PLC).
  • Provide accurate information relating to maintenance activities in Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
  • Support bottling line setup, changeover and operation corresponding to specific packages.
  • Continue development of trade skills; systems and equipment knowledge, troubleshooting, and maintenance techniques.
  • Support continuous improvement efforts related to bottling line maintenance and production processes.
  • Provide occasional assistance with Winery or other maintenance as necessary.
  • Understand and comply with all Food Safety and Quality Management System requirements, including the Safe Quality Foods (SQF) policy.
Qualifications
  • Education: High School diploma or GED required.
  • Experience: Minimum 2 years’ experience in bottling, labeling, and packaging equipment repairs, including maintenance of mechanical, bearings and shaft seals.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude
  • Problem solving skills in mechanical, electrical or fabrication areas
  • Ability to accurately follow instruction and take direction
  • Ability to respond to frequently changing production pressures
  • Extensive bottling line experience with high speed equipment; must be competent in setup and changeovers as well as troubleshooting
Working Conditions
  • Moderate to heavy physical work
  • Work site may be any one of Trinchero Family Estates’ facilities
  • Standing for long periods of time (8 hours per day)
  • Must comply with all safety equipment requirements including ear plugs and safety glasses
  • Exposure to various chemicals in production areas
  • Exposure to machinery, forklifts and related production equipment
  • Long and irregular hours during peak periods or on various shifts
  • Work schedule may include any of the following - day, swing or graveyard based on business needs
  • Depending on production efficiencies, weekend work will be required.
  • Extensive walking and lifting of up to 55 pounds
