Position:Battery Manufacturing Process Engineer Ryohin Joken & Problem Solving

Location:ONSITE - Liberty, NC 27298
Pay Rate:$65.00 - $85.00 per hour (W2 Only)
** Must be LOCAL or willing to RELOCATE at your own expense**
** This is role is 100% ONSITE, no remote work offered**
Seeking a passionate and highly passionate and highly motivated ENGINEER to join our Ryohin Joken (Conditions for Good Process and Product) advancement and problem-solving group. They are responsible for leading planning and problem-solving efforts in pre-production trial activity. They will utilize and improve systems & procedures for efficient and effective issue identification, root cause analysis, issue resolution, reoccurrence prevention / Kaizen to subsequent activity and projects, and project management of trials.
This role will also contribute to the success of developing organization s capabilities through advancement & application of Ryohin Joken knowledge and skill.
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
Leader of cross-functional team collaborating with equipment
Engage and resolve material, product, and process issues both internal and external
Create and implement working/trial plan for confirmation & problem-solving activity using Toyota Business Practice methods (TBP) or equivalent Lean practices
Create detail technical and summary reports for organizational learning and development
Input to process & equipment plan/specification for Kaizen & issue reoccurrence prevention
Use and advancement of systems and procedure for problem solving & learning capture
Individual activity management, status visualization/reporting, and incremental reflection
Lead internal & external partner relationships aligning to team objectives, development, and support
Activity related to PE-BME Department level Hoshin/ overall direction for organizational advancement
Individual support for standardization & Kaizen (continuous improvement) of Department systems and processes
Mentor and Teach other members in the team on battery knowledge, trial planning and execution, data analysis and Toyota principles if applicable
Drive own individual development, seek feedback, and monitor progress
REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:
Candidate MUST have these skills
Knowledge in battery chemistry and trials to confirm materials
Knowledge in battery manufacturing process and problem solving
Trial management and KPI confirmation
Evaluation of cell performance using analytical tools and quality functions
Industries with compatible:
Battery and automotive engineers
Chemical and material engineers
Quality for battery, semiconductors, and chemical materials.
EXPERIENCE:
3+ years of equivalent Engineering role experience in a manufacturing environment.
Experience in manufacturing production preparation role and schedule/deliverable management, including stages of project plan, process/equipment plan, specification & procurement, installation and trial.
2+ years in winding, cell assembly & electrolyte fill on automotive cells
Experience in battery cell product, processes/equipment, and/or trial activity.
Experience in activity of Ryohin Joken identification, application, and/or confirmation.
Experience coordinating with varied functions in large corporate organization, including production engineering, manufacturing, research & development, and Quality, or similar, and reporting out to senior leadership level.
Experience in interpreting & applying product/process specification, drawing and data, etc. including new material introduction and validation and change point management and confirmation
EDUCATION: Bachelor s Degree or higher in Engineering or similar technical field
Other Requirements:
10% TRAVEL - International - Japan (able to obtain a US Passport)
20% OVER-TIME - which covers weekends, holidays, and shutdowns, when required
PPE: Will wear Steel Toed Shoes/Hard Hat and Safety Glasses
Desired Skills/Nice To Have's:
Experience in produc process/equipment simultaneous engineering for new model
Experience in manufacturing plant production operations role
Experience in data analytics tools and methods
Experience in digital engineering software tools and procedures, including the ability to read, interpret and modify model data
Japanese language proficiency including verbal and written
