CWI Works is recruiting for a Partner Account Specialist position in the Senior Environmental Employment (SEE) Program (55 or older) to work at the National Vehicle and Fuel Emissions Laboratory operated by the Environmental Protection Agency based in Ann Arbor Michigan.
Role and Responsibilities:
The Center is looking for smart, motivated professionals to join this innovative federal partnership to help businesses assess and improve supply chain energy efficiency and cut fuel costs and harmful emissions. As a valued SmartWay Partner Account Specialist, you will work directly with our partners--shippers (companies that possess freight they need to move), major logistics companies, trucking firms, and other freight carriers, to help them to:
- Complete their annual partner data submissions, including reviewing their data for accuracy (while maintaining sensitive business information properly);
- Understand SmartWay outputs and reports based on the information they provide;
- Benchmark and track their freight transportation operational efficiency; and
- Explore strategies to improve efficiency.
In the course of this work, daily Partner Account Specialist duties may include:
- conducting conversations with program partner representatives (often responding to requests concerning technical information about SmartWay and improving energy efficiency);
- data entry and analysis, reviewing and evaluating performance data for accuracy;
- training newer SEE staff joining the Partner Account Specialist team;
- collaborating with other team members concerning partner opportunities for awards;
- presenting program structure, goals, and strategies, as well as data trends and partner achievements in reducing their environmental footprint, in various formats (e.g., phone calls, emails, meetings, conference calls, webinars, etc.);
- proposing strategies for improving program effectiveness;
- recommending ways to improve partner experience and ease of use;
- assessing and troubleshooting issues with our materials that may arise;
- and other factors that affect the success of the program.
Qualifications and Education Requirements:
Successful candidates must meet the following criteria of being 55 years of age or older; a US Citizen; be able to pass a Federal Background check.
Education: possess a bachelor’s degree, ideally in technical, engineering, business, or related field or several years of on-the-job training and experience; or a combination of the two.
Experience:
Necessary - solid working familiarity with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Outlook, and experience in professional communications.
Desirable - working familiarity with data entry/review and other database-related functions; experience working in freight movement/operations (e.g., transportation supply chains, trucking operations, transportation logistics)
Other relevant background may include - data quality assurance, customer relations
Preference would be given to top candidates with expertise in one or more areas:
- freight transportation (truck, rail, barge, air, ocean vessel, multimodal);
- advanced Excel,
- database programming,
- corporate carbon/sustainability accounting and reporting,
- data analysis/statistics,
- environmental regulation,
- vehicle technology, and
- marketing.
Hours & Compensation:
Full‐time position working 40 hours per week. Hourly pay is $19.21 ($39,957 annually), plus benefits including employer-paid health insurance and generous vacation/sick/holiday leave.
