AUDIOLOGIST

Why Hearing Improvement Center:

The Hearing Improvement Center evolved from the Hartford Hearing League, which was established by a small group of hard-of-hearing individuals in 1928. Since merging with Hearing Aid Services in 1986 and with Wethersfield Hearing Center in 1997, the Hearing Improvement Center operates in two locations serving thousands of individuals East and West of the river in the Greater Hartford area. This opportunity is for our Wethersfield, CT location.

We are in a great area – 1 ½ hours away from Boston, 2 hours from NY and 45 minutes to the shore area. The ideal candidate must be strong clinically and can effectively counsel while building patient rapport. Our practice is focused on providing the best patient care possible, we want to identify and work with you to find the best options for your hearing loss. Our patients are our family, we treat them as such, and our team is engaged with building strong rapport and providing realistic expectations helping our patients through their hearing health journey.

What you will do:

  • Work with patients as if they are your family. Provide compassion, professionalism, understanding and education.

  • Establish good rapport and realistic expectations for their hearing needs/lifestyle. Keep family members involved as well.

  • Fit and dispense hearing aids, making sure the adjustments and sound quality is good. Schedule follow-up care with patients.

  • Maintain documentation and patient charts as well as great interpersonal relationships with patients as well as staff.

Qualifications:

  • Master’s Degree or Au.D in Audiology preferred.

  • Active and current Audiology/Hearing Aid Licensure in CT or eligible to obtain.

The successful Audiologist will also possess the following:

  • Strong interpersonal (verbal and written) and organizational skills

  • The ability to work in a team environment as well as working independently.

  • Ability to think on their feet/problem solving.

  • The ability to interact professionally with patients, physicians, and team members.

  • Energetic, eager to learn and help patients, team as well as the practice.
