Job description

About the Role:
CognoStrategy LLC is seeking a dynamic Project Manager to join our innovative team in Baltimore, MD. In this role, you will lead exciting projects that drive strategic growth and enhance operational efficiency, all while being part of a collaborative and forward-thinking environment.
What will you do in this role?
  • Collaborate with CMS and other federal agencies to define and manage objectives, scope, project plans, timelines, and resource plans for the MDS VA Assessment System
  • Identify stakeholders across federal agencies and contractors and establish effective communication and coordination strategies
  • Assist in the management of the software development lifecycle (SDLC) for system enhancements, releases, and operational support activities
  • Facilitate regular status meetings and provide clear, concise reporting to leadership and stakeholders
  • Identify risks and dependencies, and proactively manage mitigation strategies in collaboration with cross-functional teams
  • Lead coordination across multiple teams (product, engineering, operations, and external partners) to manage escalations and drive timely resolution
  • Support Agile delivery practices, including backlog management, sprint planning, and release coordination using Atlassian tools.
Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of experience managing IT system implementations or enhancements, preferably in federal healthcare or regulatory environments
  • Experience with Atlassian collaboration tools
  • Experience managing cross-functional teams and aligning resources to meet project goals
  • Strong stakeholder management skills across multiple organizations and leadership levels
  • Excellent communication, organization, and prioritization skills
  • Demonstrated experience leading meetings with senior leadership and program stakeholders
  • Experience working in a federal contracting environment or with government clients
Preferred Skills:
  • Familiarity with CMS systems, VA systems, MDS, or clinical assessment data strongly preferred
  • Experience navigating federal governance, compliance, and data privacy requirements (e.g., FISMA, HIPAA)
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification
